$26.00

The Red-Belted Conk (Fomitopsis Shrenkii, Southwestern Red-Belted Polypore, Fomitopsis Pinicola) has been used for its medicinal properties and other useful purposes for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

It is a not as well known functional mushroom that is receiving more and more of a spotlight. It has been used to carry fire from one camp to another, as a styptic, treating malaria, fighting inflammation, and treating pain to name a few.

Modern studies have shown some of the following benefits:

  1. Blood sugar regulation by normalizing and regulating insulin production due to the hypoglycemic glycans

  2. Has been used in folk medicine as anti-inflammatory, styptic, and antimicrobial

  3. Alcohol extract showed the greatest activity against cancer cells, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial actions

  4. Water soluble Polysaccharide glucans have immune-modulating activity

  5. Use as a tonic to reduce inflammation of the digestive tract. Possibly by controlling cytokine inflammatory response

  6. Demonstrates very high phenolics concentration and powerful anti-oxidant properties

  7. High in germanium – an anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, anti-mutagenic and oxygen catalyst, enhances oxygen supply to the body’s cell’s providing increased energy production

  8. Liver detoxifier by bitter terpinoids aiding the removal of toxins in the liver and intestines

  9. Increases neutrophil count and other white blood cells

  10. Contains natural steroids that can be useful in arthritis and painful auto-immune and inflammatory diseases

  11. Concentration of triterpenes (hepato-protective, anti-inflammatory)

  12. Contains anti-histamine vegetable sterols

  13. Fatty acids exhibit circulatory stimulating properties

  14. Selectively inhibits COX-2, in turn inhibiting synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins.¹° Selective COX-2 inhibitors are significant, as NSAIDs like aspirin are also COX-1 inhibitors and use of COX-1 inhibitors increases risk of gastric ulcers

Like many medicinal mushrooms, the Red-Belted Conk is proving itself in studies and as a natural medicine over and over again. Many feel it has the greatest benefit when mixed with other medicinal mushrooms for a synergistic effect.

We are truly thankful that this amazing mushroom grows in the Arizona forests, and that we are able to offer it to you.

How to take tincture?

Most take a half to a full dropper orally 1-2 times daily. They can be taken directly under the tongue, added to a favorite tea or beverage, or even put into an empty gel capsule and swallowed. If added to a hot beverage most of the alcohol will evaporate quite quickly and you will just be left with the beneficial properties of the mushroom.

Our dual extracted tinctures are made with naturally grown, organic mushroom fruit bodies. They are concentrated & contain no added flavorings or fillers. They are vegan/vegetarian and contain 30% alcohol for effectiveness and long shelf life.

Tinctures and extracts are used as a dietary supplement, so check with your primary care physician, healthcare professional, or herbalist you trust before you begin mushroom tincture usage.
